IN CHARACTER

Character Name: Tom McNair
Canon: Being Human
Canon Point: The Last Broadcast

In-Game Tattoo Placement: RIBS
Current Health/Status: Healthy, will think he's dead or that the Devil is tricking him. Long story.
Age: 22
Species: Werewolf

Content Warnings: just werewolf horror

History: WIKI

Personality: Tom is very emotional. Naive. “Gullible is written on the ceiling” easy-to-deceive. Basically still a kid, since he was raised in the woods by a wolfman. He never went to school but was taught basic things by McNair. Cooking, grooming, how to talk to someone normally (mostly). He often asked his father if they could look for other werewolves. He wants a pack, a family. His greatest fantasy was not being a rock star or rich, nothing like that, but having a child. The dream that the Devil showed him was Alison, a small, dorky, curly-haired werewolf girl. Tom took to taking care of his dead friend's baby, Eve, easily. She either really liked him or he's good with kids. He treated her like his own daughter, if not like a little sister. Tom's loyal and loving and wants to hug the world. Except for vampires... they killed his father. He wouldn't be too keen to share a space with one.

Tom's strong and pretty determined. He has shown to be strong even when under the influence of the moon and his change. He saved people from another werewolf mid-his-own-transformation. He has a blurry moral compass, he's a little grey. He wasn't above stealing for Eve, either. When he didn't have a job and Annie was a ghost who couldn't work, Tom stole by slipping extra cans into his bag. He eventually got a job. In his heart of hearts, Tom believes in kindness. In the future scenario that Eve showed Annie, Tom let himself be killed rather than fight in cage matches for werewolves. He would rather sacrifice himself than kill for sport. He appears stupid to most, as if he doesn't have common sense. Maybe he just goes about things the round about way? He's a little dim but good where it counts. He talks with a strong Northern accent and people sometimes have a hard time understanding him. Likes to carve wood-- especially into stakes (he’s named a few Thor, Beowulf, Conan and Duncan) but can also makes another shapes.

He doesn’t care for Manchester United at all. Then again, who does?

Tom is very chivalrous and "respects" women. He’s also terrified of women, so that might be where some of the respect comes from. But the way McNair brought him up makes him slightly less of a feminist and more ‘we have to protect women because they are perfect babymaking flowers.’ Living with Alex has taught him somewhat differently. Alex, being a tomboy and a regular woman once before she was a ghost. She was a perfect contrast to Annie's extremely feminine ways. Tom's understanding women better. He doesn't have a preference when it comes to romantic things-- he's highly inexperienced but curious and enthusiastic about anyone showing interest in him. Which is a recipe for heartache.

Tom doesn’t dress up. At all. He always looks like a kid about to go to gym class. Killing vampires seems to be his full-time job. He also sports a cross tattoo on the side of his shin and his first infection scars go from the back of his head all the way down his back.

Tom has basic social skills and since working at the diner (To support the household, he started working as a short order cook and cashier with Hal), he's become better talking to people. Asking what they like, complimenting their clothes. Tom is on his way to becoming a well rounded person. A fierce friend, a wicked fighter, a devoted lover, and one day, maybe a father.

Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping: Skilled fighter, Macgyver-like when fighting vampires. Can make a stake out of anything and will spit his own blood on a vamp (in the Being Human universe, werewolf blood is deadly to vampires).

He can see ghosts and recognize vampires right away.

Is a classic werewolf, also called a Type 3 (type 1 being a vampire, type 2 being a ghost, type 3 are weres. There are also the type 4s... zombies). This means he has lycanthropy and changes into a werewolf during the full moon. Right before and after the full moon, his senses are sharper. When in his werewolf form, Tom doesn’t regain any of his human intellect or memories. He can turn others into werewolves with just a scratch or bite.

Tom also could sense where his father was, which could have been a side effect of McNair being the one to change Tom. Or some sort of bonding thing. His father is dead now so that’s not a very good skill but worth mentioning. It’s possible that his senses are strong even while out of his werewolf form because he’s been a werewolf for the majority of his life.

The warp on his powers will be that his senses are not sharp in human form, only until he's a werewolf and he won't be able to control his changes, not even a little bit (like he once was shown to do). Full moon rises and Tom's gone.

Inventory:
Dull hunting knife for whittlin'
some of his/his father's clothes-- including his father's well worn duster and his father's silver cross necklace
Vials to be used to hold his blood
picture of Eve Sands being held by a ghost-- therefore floating
a useless cellphone with a video of two werewolves changing-- it was uploaded to the internet in his 'verse.

Are you comfortable with prominent elements of fourth-walling?: Yes! I don't think anyone would have seen his show, but they can make hairy balls jokes or whatever.
What themes of horror/psychological thrillers do you enjoy the most?: I like dark stuff but I don't like cannibalism or zombies too much. I like to explore people turning from strong to weak-- desperation. Things you do when you are scared.
Is there anything in particular you absolutely need specific content warnings for?: Put in the doc already!
Additional Information: re: dropping Johanna to play Tom isn't something I normally would do, I was prepping to put Tom in another game and thought he'd fit better here.
